cher from clueless gets coveteur’ed

this movie is like a walk down memory lane for me because i’m a 90′s kid. and i love amy heckerling’s style in the way that she writes and directs. other great films by heckerling include fast times at ridgemont high, european vacation and look who’s talking, all of which i also love!

don’t you just miss cartoons from back in the day? i had a jem barbie doll growing up, and for some reason she so happened to be one of the dolls that my sister and i gave a crew cut to unfortunately, so sorry jem! ;/ #weirdkids

theme song

jem is excitement!
oouu jem…
jem is adventure!
glamour and glitter,
fashion and fame!

jem is truly outrageous
truly, truly, truly outrageous
woo ooo jem…
the music’s contagious {outrageous}

jem is my name
no one else is the same
jem is my name!

but we’re the misfits
our songs are bitter
we are the misfits {the misfits}
and we’re gonna get her!

there’s something about this photo that intrigues me. i love when actors smoke,
eat and drink wine in quaint cafes. i also love the name melanie laurent, my sister’s name is melanie. well i guess these are just a couple of reasons.

was a teen comedy-drama on the WB network. it is said to be a precursor to glee, which was also created by ryan murphy. i loved this show. the writing, the set design, the fashions, the camera work, the lighting, all of it was very creative. unfortunately, it only ran for two consecutive seasons from 1999 – 2001. i did have the pleasure of meeting leslie bibb {who starred as the lead, brooke mcqueen} at a coffee shop in San Francisco. so sweet and personable, she looked the same in real person as she does on screen. also, accompanying her was sam rockwell who appeared in iron man 2.

françoise hardy

July 17, 2011 § 20 Comments

another style icon from the 60′s, françoise hardy ~ a french pop singer, actress and astrologer. my dad, who happens to be a fan of hers, has an extensive collection of french albums, of which also include the likes of édith piaf and jacques brel. hardy is said to have struck the fancies of mick jagger and brian jones with her intelligence and beauty. also, she is mentioned in the poem some other kinds of songs by bob dylan, that which he wrote on his album cover, another side of bob dylan ~ released in 1964.
