these oats are indeed fun to eat, and very easy to make. the blueberries are what gives this oatmeal it’s purple hue.

ingredients: {1 serving}
• 1 cup water
• 1/2 cup rolled oats

• 2 T mini organic wild blueberries

• 1 T natural unsalted chunky nut butter – i used peanut

• 1 T brown sugar

• 1 T cinnamon spice give or take

• real maple syrup or honey, a few squirts

• 1 tsp organic flax meal {optional}

• 1 tsp chia seeds {optional}

• 1/2 – 1 tsp bee pollen {optional}

to do:
bring the water to a boil and add in the oats. cook for however long it calls for, around 5 minutes in most cases. at the very end, drop in the blueberries. stir until the color infuses and slightly releases. remove from heat and add in all of the toppings along with optionals if desired. gently fold together and enjoy with a hot cup of coffee!

    YUM. This looks so delicious. I just bought some oats yesterday as a matter of fact. May have to make some of this tomorrow morning! I’ve never tried a nut butter in my oatmeal…looks good!

    Wow! A hot bowl of this is just what a person needs to start the day off healthy. Every ingredient combined makes this breakfast so special. I’ve not seen one calling for nut butter…I’m sure this is very satisfying and filling…who wants to snack after this. Once again, thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe!

    Oh my gosh, those look so cool! Andrea (my cousin) used to call purple oatmeal “Barney” oats, which I loved! BTW I tried to tell you in the blog comments that I’ve totally eaten at Bridges! Only after seeing Mrs. Doubtfire though – one of my favorite movies from back in the day! :)
