spiced nuts

November 29, 2012 § 8 Comments

these were given to me as a christmas gift last year and i just had to make them myself this season! there are no words to describe just how good these are.. this recipe is from here and i’ve added some minor tweaks of my own. i myself love these nuts filled in little glass jars, they make for such a cute presentation i think!

• 2 1/2 cups mixed nuts {i used what i had on hand, peanuts + almonds}
• a couple dashes of dried rosemary
• a couple dashes of cinnamon
• a couple dashes of cardamom
• 1 teaspoon of cayenne
• 1 teaspoon of fresh ground nutmeg
• 2 tablespoons brown sugar
• 1 tablespoon kosher salt
• 2 1/2 tablespoons of unsalted butter

to do:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Arrange nuts on a cookie sheet and bake for just under 10 minutes. Combine all of the dry ingredients in a small bowl and mix into the butter that has been melted in the microwave. When the nuts have turned a golden brown transfer them into a mixing bowl. pour the spiced mixture over the nuts and toss well. allow to cool and enjoy!
