lookbook: fedora

December 26, 2011 § 27 Comments

i hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday! i thought that i’d start the week off with a lookbook featuring my new hat. i’ve never been much of a hat person with the exception of baseball caps, so this is a new look for me. what do you guys think, can i pull off the look of the fedora?? and p.s. i appreciate and respect your honesty…

lookbook: pink and red silk scarf

October 27, 2011 § 31 Comments

shortly before my grandmother had passed, she had given me her pretty silk scarf. not only does it add a touch of whimsy to my somewhat structured vintage handbag, but it also holds sentimental value. and the weather was slightly crisp, so i decided upon my navy cable knit sweater being perfect in weight and providing just the right amount of warmth. paired with some army green military cargos and vintage boots, it made for an easy, casual, fall outfit. and my gold link bracelet topped it off as a nice statement accessory, alongside my oversized tortoise shell watch.

lookbook: out for pie

September 1, 2011 § 24 Comments

i absolutely crave pie. there’s nothing better than a hot cup of strong black coffee alongside a slice of warm pie à la mode. i’ve decided that i really must continue my love affair with fashion, especially shoes, and break away from my flat-wearing addiction. so my christian louboutin wedge espadrilles fit the bill perfectly. sadly enough, they’ve been stored away in a box due to all of the moving that’s taken place. a shoe box is definitely not the place for a pair of louboutins!

farmer’s market cardboard containers

August 24, 2011 § 11 Comments

i have always thought these containers were just so cute. even before anthropologie came out with a neat porcelain version. so in attempt to save a few dollars as well as exercise my green awareness, i thought i’d reuse this pretty teal cardboard container as a place to store garlic. i didn’t spend a dime and it looks just so pretty and organic, don’t you think?

lookbook: mel’s house

August 22, 2011 § 19 Comments

today i had a lunch date with my mom, sister and niece. it was just like old times again, where we sat around the big wooden table and had some great conversation as we tucked into yummy bowls of ramen noodles. and even though i cook a lot myself now, there is simply nothing better than a meal prepared by mom.
