love is in the air

love the styling in this valentine editorial by planet blue. it looks as if those flouncy slip dresses from the 90’s are making a comeback, and don’t you just love that candy-colored moroccan pouf? i’m off to eat some more candy hearts now, ugh.

lookbook: have you ever seen the rain?

October 17, 2011 § 38 Comments

you would think that my being from california would make me incessantly intolerant of the rain and lets face it, incapable of handling anything else other than pure perfect sunshine. but i am actually enjoying the rain so far. it is not a constant downpour but more like a fine mist which bears somewhat of a slight resemblance to the tropical climate of hawaii. and when the sun does decide to make a brief presence, i find that i appreciate it that much more. plus, the terrain in portland is just so lush and green, another reason to embrace the fall weather here! p.s. and you can also spy my new booties debuted here!

today i had a lunch date with my mom, sister and niece. it was just like old times again, where we sat around the big wooden table and had some great conversation as we tucked into yummy bowls of ramen noodles. and even though i cook a lot myself now, there is simply nothing better than a meal prepared by mom.

lookbook: brunch

i love the bright color combination of orange and fuchsia. since i’m always on a budget, i like to go shopping in my closet most of the time. i first see what i already have on hand and then i go with it. in the case of the orange and fuchsia trend, while keeping it really casual and comfortable, i paired this light-weight, orange tee with a pair of do-it-myself cropped, deep pink, gap pants, which i bought quite some time ago. and my new suede wedges which are surprisingly really comfortable, made their debut. for accessories, or lack thereof, i decided to go without.

shirt : 2010 burnout tee
pants : gap
shoes : dolce vita
chapstick : burt’s bees
lipstick : maybelline’s coral crush
face powder : {translucent} kanebo
eye pencils : sonia kashuk, buxom & tarte
eye shadow : smashbox
